How each one worksWhen a photo wall fits betterWhen a photo booth fits betterUse bothNext stepsA photo booth and a live photo wall both get guests taking pictures, but they work differently. Here is how to choose, or how to use both.
How each one works
- Photo booth: guests queue at one station, pose in front of a camera, and usually get a print or a digital copy. It needs space, power and often an attendant.
- Live photo wall (Pixloud): guests use their own phones from wherever they are. They scan a QR code, share photos, short videos, voice notes and messages, and you approve each one before it appears on the big screen.
When a photo wall fits better
- Big rooms and long events. There's no queue, so hundreds of guests can share at once from their tables.
- Candid moments. Guests share what they actually see during the day: the first dance, the speeches, the kids on the dance floor.
- Voices and messages, not just faces. Guests can leave voice notes and written wishes, which you can download afterwards.
- Small venues. There's nothing to set up except a screen and a laptop or smart TV.
When a photo booth fits better
- You want printed photos to hand out on the night.
- You want posed, lit portraits with props and a backdrop.
Use both
Many hosts run both. Put the Pixloud QR code next to the booth so guests can share their booth shots to the wall too.
